Brownies Create Their Own BeWILDerwood at Hautbois
Brownies from across Girlguiding Anglia are taking over Hautbois activity centre in Norfolk and creating their own BeWILDerwood land. More than 70 Brownies and their Leaders will help to transform Hautbois into the land of Boggles and Twiggles – characters from the magical children’s books written by local author and creator of BeWILDerwood, Tom Blofeld.
One of the weekend activities for the Brownies will be visiting the wild and imaginative adventure park BeWILDerwood in the Norfolk Broads, to explore the treetops and take part in some mini adventures of their own.
At Hautbois, near Coltishall, the Brownies will learn to live like Boggles and Twiggles by decorating their own boots for a Thornyclod spider (the type of spider that likes to wear boots and shoes on each foot). Brownies will also get to try abseiling, climbing, canoeing and raft building – all essential life skills for Boggles and Twiggles, and an adventurous new activity for Brownies too! The event is one of hundreds taking place across the UK to celebrate 100 years of guiding.
